Newborn Care: Assist with Circumcision/Assess site post-op, Car Seat Education, Cord Care, Discharge teaching to parents, Infant Identification, Metabolic Screen, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Phototherapy, Teach Circumcision care to parents, Thermoregulation. Antepartum Care and Procedures: NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Sterile vaginal exam, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring). Postpartum Care and Procedures: Baby friendly protocols, Breastfeeding Support/lactation support, Episiotomy/Incisional Care, Foley Catheter insertion, Fundus/lochia/perineum care, Use of Electric/Manual breast pump, Wound Assessment and Care. Postpartum Care of the Patient with: Bladder Distension, Cesarean Section, Couplet Care, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Vaginal Delivery. Surgical Case/Procedures: D & C, Tubal Ligation. Pain Management: Epidural Anesthesia, General Anesthesia, Opioids, Pain assessment & management, Use of PCA (IV). Professional Topics and Skills: Isolation Precautions/PPE, Vaccine Administration. Fetal Monitoring: Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, Spiral Electrode Placement, Use of External Fetal Monitoring, Use of Internal Fetal Monitoring, Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration.
