PHARMACIST
Description
The Hospital Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medications within the hospital. This role involves dispensing medications, advising healthcare professionals, monitoring patient responses, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Medication Dispensing & Preparation
+ Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications, including sterile and chemotherapy compounds.
+ Review and interpret physician orders for appropriateness and accuracy.
+ Clinical Collaboration
+ Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
+ Provide drug information and therapeutic recommendations.
+ Patient Safety & Education
+ Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as needed.
+ Educate patients and staff on proper medication use, side effects, and interactions.
+ Inventory & Compliance
+ Manage pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling.
+ Maintain records and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
+ Quality Improvement & Research
+ Participate in medication reconciliation, adverse drug event monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives.
+ Support clinical research and contribute to the development of new therapy
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
Active pharmacist license in the state of practice
Hospital or clinical pharmacy experience preferred
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, interactions, and clinical guidelines
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Familiarity with pharmacy automation systems and electronic health records (EHR)

This is a Permanent position based out of Duncan, OK.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
