Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech (CST-OR)

Facility: Northern Navajo Medical Center

Location: Shiprock, New Mexico 87420

Shift Timing: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Scheduled Shifts & Hours: 5 days/week, 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $40 $50 per hour (based on experience and travel)

Contract Length: 32 weeks

Position Overview:

Northern Navajo Medical Center is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technician (CST-OR) to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled professional with strong surgical preparation, sterile field maintenance, and intraoperative support abilities. This is a travel contract position offering competitive pay, a consistent schedule, and the opportunity to work in a respected healthcare facility.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterile equipment.
• Assist surgeons during operative procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs.
• Maintain the sterile field and follow all infection control protocols.
• Handle surgical specimens and ensure proper labelling and documentation.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and smooth workflow.
• Monitor and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, reporting any malfunctions.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• At least 1 year of experience in the operating room specialty.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential.
• Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification.
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
